Third session (10:50 a.m.-11:50 a.m.)
• How to Speak to an Employer at a Career Fair
How you approach a recruiter at a Career Fair can make or break you as a qualified candidate. Many of the Review-Journal’s Career Fair exhibitors complain of candidates coming to the fair ill prepared, lacking a resume or an effective resume, and presence. This session will give you the tools and tips to present yourself as a talented candidate wherever you are discussing employment opportunities.
Presented by Dr. Rick Soule, RLS Career Consulting

• Behavioral Interviewing: Success with the STAR method
Learn how to successfully answer questions that focus beyond your knowledge and skills. These “Tell me about … a conflict when…or a challenging project and why..” etc. These behavioral questions require well thought out examples that display problem solving and process thinking skills. Employers and Job Developers will be on hand to help you practice job interviewing and offer feedback to improve your skills.
Presented by Doug Pilarski, SawyerTMS

• My Skills, My Future
Learn the tools to get you from knowing your attributions, to promoting yourself, securing the interview, and making a strong impression during interviews.
Presented by Ron Thomas, Nevada Partners. Inc.

Fourth session (12 Noon-1 p.m.)
• Ask the Experts
You ask- the pros answer. Don't miss this opportunity! HR professionals, hiring managers, and/or job developers answer your questions--rare opportunity to learn from the experts.

• Mock Interviews
We’ll match 2-4 job seeking “Interviewees” with an “ Interviewer” for one-on-one (who may be an HR professional, hiring manager, or job developer) practice interviewing in a safe environment. Feedback will be offered from the Interviewer as well as the other observing job seekers.
